The EDV-7300 and EDV-7500 have a unique shuttle control that provides slow speed picture search in either direction. After placing the VCR in playback still this lever (shown above) can be pressed from side to side which causes the tape to travel at x1/4 speed through the VCR. The picture is clear and slowed down and moves as long as the lever is pressed. LEDs indicate tape direction and stop. The functions are also available using the remote. This is an excellent method for locating the exact visual starting and stopping points for making near perfect edits. The digital circuitry in the VCR provides the rock-steady clean picture when performing this achievement. Once the desired edit location is selected the synchro-edit circuit can be employed to directly control the target Beta VCR.
