THE 12 VOLT DIN SOCKET

The 12-volt 5-pin DIN socket found with many portable Betas is used for powering the VCR externally. Normally, power would be supplied by the companion tuner/timer unit or the NP-1H battery. But by using this 12-volt power socket (input), a number of accessories can be used to power the VCR independently. This opens up a whole new world of spending opportunities for accessories.
